Follow this recipe to make incredibly soft, gooey cinnamon rolls using heavy cream. This method guarantees a decadent, fluffy texture that stays moist, perfect for a special breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 rolls total)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package cream cheese frosting (from the can)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Separate the refrigerated cinnamon rolls and place them in the prepared baking dish, leaving a small space between each roll.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, melted butter, dark brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until the sugar is mostly dissolved. This creates your cream soak.
  4. Pour the heavy cream mixture evenly over the unbaked cinnamon rolls in the dish. Ensure the liquid covers the bottom of the pan and coats the rolls.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through. The liquid should be mostly absorbed and bubbly.
  6. Remove the dish from the oven. Immediately spread the included cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls. The heat will help the frosting melt into the rolls, adding to the gooey texture.
  7. Let the rolls cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm for the best melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to the heavy cream mixture.
  • If you prefer a thicker frosting, warm the included frosting slightly before spreading it over the hot rolls.
  • These rolls are best eaten the day they are made to maintain maximum softness.
