Make this easy Dorito casserole for a satisfying weeknight dinner or game day potluck. This recipe combines tender chicken, a creamy sauce, and a crunchy nacho cheese topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (9.25 ounce) bag Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos, lightly crushed
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, taco seasoning, and chopped onion. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Stir in the Monterey Jack cheese and cheddar cheese into the chicken mixture.
  4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate small bowl, toss the lightly crushed Doritos with the melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the buttered Doritos evenly over the top of the casserole mixture.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/4 cup of diced jalapeños to the chicken mixture.
  • You can substitute ground beef for chicken; brown 1 pound of ground beef and drain the fat before mixing it into the sauce.
  • If you prefer a different chip flavor, use Cool Ranch Doritos for a variation.
  • To make this a layered Dorito casserole, place half the chips on the bottom, then the filling, then the remaining chips on top.
