You make this rich, gooey hot fudge pie that tastes like a warm brownie. This simple recipe delivers a decadent chocolate indulgence perfect for any gathering. Serve it warm with ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Pour in the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until the batter is smooth. Do not overmix.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will remain soft and gooey, similar to a brownie.
  7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve the hot fudge pie warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer, more intense chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder instead of standard unsweetened cocoa.
  • This pie tastes best when served warm, about 30 minutes after it comes out of the oven.
  • If you want a firmer texture, bake for an additional 5 minutes, but remember the center should remain fudgy.
