Make this hot jalapeno dip for your next gathering. This creamy, cheesy appetizer uses simple ingredients and bakes up perfectly for crackers or chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh jalapenos, seeds removed for less heat
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie dish or small oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
  3. Stir in the chopped fresh jalapenos, green onions, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese base.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the Monterey Jack cheese over the top layer of the dip.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese topping is melted and lightly golden brown.
  7. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips or crackers.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use fresh jalapenos and adjust the quantity based on your preferred spice level.
  • If you prefer a no bake cream cheese dip, skip the baking step and chill the mixture for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Serve this party dip recipe with sturdy tortilla chips, sturdy crackers, or vegetable sticks.
