Make a tender, flavorful slow cooker turkey breast with minimal effort. Slow-cooked to perfection, this juicy turkey is ideal for weeknight dinners or special occasions. This moist turkey breast method frees up your oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3 to 4 pound) bone-in or boneless turkey breast
  • 1 tablespoon dried poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to create the herb rub.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey breast, then evenly coat the turkey with the herb rub mixture.
  4. Pour the chicken broth or water into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  5. Place the seasoned turkey breast in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 165°F.
  7. Carefully remove the turkey breast from the slow cooker and let it rest on a cutting board, loosely tented with foil, for 15 minutes before slicing.
  8. If you desire gravy, skim fat from the liquid remaining in the slow cooker, then bring the liquid to a simmer on the stovetop and thicken with a cornstarch slurry if needed.

Notes

  • For bone-in breasts, cooking time may be slightly longer; always check the internal temperature.
  • If you are using a boneless turkey breast slow cooker cut, reduce the cooking time by about 30 minutes.
  • This recipe works well as a Thanksgiving turkey breast alternative when you need less volume than a whole bird.
